The 2008 - 2010 period has been an exceptionally difficult time for Walton County and for our nation. Our community has been faced with countless individuals who have lost their jobs, their homes and the ability to provide for the needs of their families. During this time, increased demand for health care services has placed additional hardship on families.
Letter from the Chairman
The Walton County Health Care Foundation supports both governmental and community-wide agencies that provide health related services to families and individuals with medical needs.
Since our first grant cycle in 2006, our foundation has provided over one million dollars in support of health care related projects within Walton County. Our 2008 through 2010 Foundation grants provided funding for such vital services as a replacement ambulance for the Walton County Emergency Medical Service, a new medical and rescue vehicle for Social Circle, a dementia prevention program for seniors, and exercise/ fitness equipment for public use at Meridian Park and at Felker Park.
Our foundation is well aware of the positive impact that healthy lifestyles, proper nutrition and disease prevention can have on the demand for medical services in the Walton County community. Funding and support for organizations who provide education or who organize activities, events and resources focusing on prevention are an important part of our mission.
As we have since our inception, we will continue to seek opportunities to support viable initiatives that focus on enhancing both the delivery of health care to and the overall health of members of our community.
